    Description

In 1987, Tim Adams launched his own label, Tim Adams Wines, where he is still Chief Winemaker today. He is one of the wineries who established the Clare Valley as one of Australia’s premier wine regions. This aromatic Semillon has great balance and generous flavour typical of this variety grown in the Clare Valley. Fermentation in new French oak has added complexity to the grassy and stone fruit characters of the Semillon. It has diverse food compatibility—in particular with seafood and pasta and may be cellared for a decade with confidence.
Rated 95/100 by James Halliday and 92/100 by Jaremy Oliver.

    Variety Description

    Semillon

Sémillon is a golden-skinned grape used to make dry and sweet white wines, mostly in France and Australia. Its thin skin and susceptibility to botrytis make it dominate the sweet wine region Sauternes AOC and Barsac AOC. Sémillon, which is relatively easy to cultivate, consistently produces six to eight tons of grapes per acre from its vigorous vines. The Sémillon grape is rather heavy, with low acidity and an almost oily texture. It has a high yield and wines based on it can age a long time. Along with Sauvignon blanc and Muscadelle, Sémillon is one of only three approved white wine varieties in the Bordeaux region.

    Country Description

    Australia

Wine is produced in every state, with more than 60 designated wine regions however Australia's wine regions are mainly in the southern, cooler parts of the country, with vineyards located in South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, Tasmania and Queensland. The major grape varieties are predominantly Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Semillon, Pinot noir, Riesling, and Sauvignon blanc. Some of the more famus wine areas include Barossa Valley, Coonawarra, Clare Valley, Hunter Valley and Margret River.

    Region Description

    South Australia

The South Australian wine industry is responsible for more than half the production of all Australian wine. South Australia has a vast diversity in geography and climate which allows the state to be able to produce a range of grape varieties-from the cool climate Riesling variety in the Clare Valley to the big, full bodied Shiraz wines of the Barossa Valley. Some of Australia's best-known wines like Penfolds Grange, Jacob's Creek, Yalumba and Henschke Hill of Grace are produced here, as well as many of Australia's mass-produced box wines.
