    1 x 2019 Pike & Joyce "Rapide" Pinot Noir | Adelaide Hills

Pike & Joyce is a partnership between two legendary South Australian wine families: Neil Pike is one of Australia’s leading winemakers, and the Joyce family are 5th generation wine growers..
This Pinot Noir punches well above it’s weight! Very attractive bright red and dark fruits with little interference from oak and a hint of mushroom and earth. Although typically elegant, the palate has nice concentration of bright strawberry/cherry fruit displaying a sappy freshness, fine tannins and subtle oak.
Rated 93/100 from The Real Review.

1 x 2018 Chapel Hill "The Parson" Cabernet Sauvignon | Adelaide

Chapel Hill have some of the best vineyards in the McLaren Vale, planted around an old church that was built in 1865. Winemaker Michael Fragos has twice been named Winemaker of the Year: by Winestate in 2003 and by the International Wine & Spirit Competition in 2007. This is pure expression of Cabernet! Leafy black fruits with and cedar spice, with alluring aromas of liquorice and mulberry. The wonderfully structured palate is complex with persistent fine grain tannins.
The 2018 vintage was the Trophy Winner at the 2018 Sydney Royal Wine Show for Best Cabernet Sauvignon. Also rated 92/100 by The Wine Front and 91/100 by James Halliday.

    Variety Description

    Syrah/Shiraz

Syrah (also known as Shiraz) is a dark-skinned grape variety grown throughout the world and used primarily to produce red wine. The style and flavour profile of wines made from Syrah is influenced by the climate where the grapes are grown with moderate climates (such as the northern Rhone Valley) tending to produce medium to full-bodied wines with medium to high levels of tannins and flavours of blackberry, mint and black pepper notes. In hot climates (such as the Barossa Valley of Australia), Syrah is more consistently full-bodied with softer tannin, jammier fruit and spice notes of liquorice, anise and earthy leather. In many regions the acidity and tannin levels of Syrah allows to have favorable aging potential.

    Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir grapes are grown around the world, mostly in the cooler regions, but the grape is chiefly associated with the Burgundy region of France. When young, wines made from Pinot noir tend to have red fruit aromas of cherries, raspberries and strawberries. As the wines age, Pinots have the potential to develop vegetal and "barnyard" aromas that can contribute to the complexity of the wine.

    Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the world's most widely recognized red wine grape varieties. It is grown in nearly every major wine producing country among a diverse spectrum of climate. Cabernet Sauvignon became internationally recognized through its prominence in Bordeaux wines where it is often blended with Merlot and Cabernet Franc. South Australia, Western Australia & California in the USA have become well-known for their Cabernet Sauvignon wines. The classic profile of Cabernet Sauvignon tends to be full-bodied wines with high tannins and noticeable acidity that contributes to the wine's aging potential.

    Region Description

    South Australia

The South Australian wine industry is responsible for more than half the production of all Australian wine. South Australia has a vast diversity in geography and climate which allows the state to be able to produce a range of grape varieties-from the cool climate Riesling variety in the Clare Valley to the big, full bodied Shiraz wines of the Barossa Valley. Some of Australia's best-known wines like Penfolds Grange, Jacob's Creek, Yalumba and Henschke Hill of Grace are produced here, as well as many of Australia's mass-produced box wines.
