    Description

The Hesketh Wine Company is a small, family owned producer of high quality, yet accessible wines. They work with own growers and process own wines like traditional wineries. But rather than attempt to be all things to all people from one region, their approach is to remain focused on the individual strengths of different South Australian growing regions. Bright Young Things is made from fruit grown in the cooler climate regions of South Australia. The lower temperature of these areas creates an extended ripening period, for the grapes, which results in an abundance of flavour and crisp, natural acidity. A bright and aromatic Sauvignon Blanc that showcases vivid varietal characteristics.

    Variety Description

    Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc is a green-skinned grape variety that originates from the Bordeaux region of France. Sauvignon Blanc is widely cultivated in France, Chile, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Washington and California. Some New World Sauvignon Blancs, particularly from California, may also be called "Fume Blanc". Depending on the climate, the flavour can range from aggressively grassy to sweetly tropical. In cooler climates, the grape has a tendency to produce wines with noticeable acidity and "green flavours" of grass, green bell peppers and nettles with some tropical fruit (such as passion fruit) and floral (such as elderflower) notes. In warmer climates, it can develop more tropical fruit notes but risk losing a lot of aromatics from over-ripeness, leaving only slight grapefruit and tree fruit (such as peach) notes

Some of the more famous wine areas include Barossa Valley, Coonawarra, Clare Valley, Hunter Valley and Margret River.

    Region Description

    South Australia

The South Australian wine industry is responsible for more than half the production of all Australian wine. South Australia has a vast diversity in geography and climate which allows the state to be able to produce a range of grape varieties-from the cool climate Riesling variety in the Clare Valley to the big, full bodied Shiraz wines of the Barossa Valley. Some of Australia's best-known wines like Penfolds Grange, Jacob's Creek, Yalumba and Henschke Hill of Grace are produced here, as well as many of Australia's mass-produced box wines.
