In 1987 Tim Adams launched his own label, where he is still Chief Winemaker today. He is one of Australia’s most famous winemakers, who established the Clare Valley as one of the country’s premier wine regions.
They dare to call Aberfedly Shiraz the "Clare Valley Grange". It’s the firm’s flagship wine, a consistent gold medal winner at the International Wine Challenge in London, and an absolute benchmark for Clare Valley Shiraz. Syrah
Syrah (also known as Shiraz) is a dark-skinned grape variety grown throughout the world and used primarily to produce red wine. The style and flavor profile of wines made from Syrah is influenced by the climate where the grapes are grown with moderate climates (such as the northern Rhone Valley) tending to produce medium to full-bodied wines with medium to high levels of tannins and flavors of blackberry, mint and black pepper notes. In hot climates (such as the Barossa Valley of Australia), Syrah is more consistently full-bodied with softer tannin, jammier fruit and spice notes of liquorice, anise and earthy leather. The South Australian wine industry is responsible for more than half the production of all Australian wine. South Australia has a vast diversity in geography and climate which allows the state to be able to produce a range of grape varieties-from the cool climate Riesling variety in the Clare Valley to the big, full bodied Shiraz wines of the Barossa Valley. Some of Australia's best-known wines like Penfolds Grange, Jacob's Creek, Yalumba and Henschke Hill of Grace are produced here, as well as many of Australia's mass-produced box wines.
