Established in 1905, Vidal Estate is one of the oldest wineries in New Zealand and has established a long tradition of high quality and excellent value.

This Chardonnay strikes a wonderful balance between “new world” fruit flavours and “old world” complexity. Beautifully fragrant citrus, floral and complex notes combine on a finely styled and balanced palate. Delicious!

Chardonnay is a green-skinned grape variety used to make white wine. It originated in the Burgundy wine region of eastern France but is now grown wherever wine is produced, from England to New Zealand. The Chardonnay grape itself is very neutral, with many of the flavours commonly associated with the grape being derived from such influences as terroir and oak. It is vinified in many different styles, from the lean, crisply mineral wines of Chablis, France to New World wines with oak, and tropical fruit flavours.

    New Zealand

New Zealand wine is largely produced in ten major wine growing regions spanning from north to south Northland, Auckland, Waikato/Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Wellington, Nelson, Marlborough, Canterbury/Waipara and Central Otago. New Zealand red wines are typically made from a blend of varietals (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and much less often Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec), or Pinot noir. In white wines Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc predominate in plantings and production. New Zealand is home to what many wine critics consider the world’s best Sauvignon blanc
